I seem to be having a few problems with pests in my garden.

There are aphids on my tomatoes,

Grasshoppers too,

And then there is this pest, which is relentless:

Anyone know a good organic beagle repellent?

Working the Grill

Ever read Last Night's Dinner? I love that blog. Here's what I whipped up:

Beef- Trader Joe's Korean Boneless Beef Ribs (skewered), grilled corn and cocount rice. And a Blue Moon to wash it down. Delish!

Feed me Seymour, Feed me all night looooong!

Cucumbers are INSANE. Seriously. I had no idea how fast they grow and how aggressive they are towards other plants. Who would have thought that the cucumber, a simple delicious cold vegetable - would dominate the garden? Ever see Little Shop of Horrors? Yeah I have that blood thirsty plant living in my back yard right now.

There is little I can to to stop the cucumber.

Grillin and Chillin

Food cooked on the grill during the summer is the best. Last Saturday, I made baby back ribs and grilled chicken skewers, served with baked beans and potato salad. Eaten outside in the backyard, and washed down with a Pacifico with lime.

Just perfect.

Finished knits

Knitting has been slow lately, thanks to other projects and work. However, I am going to have to kick start a few new baby projects, since a friend of mine is expecting in the fall. I finished the cute little striped hat that I was working on:

Pattern- Umbilical Cord Hat, from Stitch and Bitch, the Knitters Handbook.
Yarn- Jo Sharp Desert Cotton in green and tan.

And I finished a lovely scarf, just in time for August:

Pattern-Shimmer Chevron Scarf.
Yarn-Lang Yarns Mille Colori.

I am hoping to get some more exciting things on my needles very soon, being that this is supposed to be a knitting blog and all...
